A little about me...

I thought I would post a little about me. I am  a 23 year old nursing major. I work full time as a nursing assistant at Sunrise Senior Living, I love my job it's a great place to work and I'm getting so much experience while I wait to get into nursing school. I am going to school a few credits shy of full time while I work full time, so no I don't get to sleep very much!

I've always liked crafting and artsy type of things. I got into smashbooking about 6 months ago, so I'm still learning and I thought this would be a fun way of seeing me improve. Drawing isn't really my forte but I'm also trying to get better at that. I've also really liked writing which was another plus to having this blog. My mom's always been really good at writing, her poetry is beautiful and I strive to be like her when it comes to writing.

I like in the greater Seattle area, and I love it here. I love the trees, all the green and the rivers. Seattle is a amazing place and seattlites are a breed all there own. I moved here in 2010 (though I lived here before in elementary middle school) because there are more nursing school then Nevada. I was born and raised for the majority of my life in Sparks, NV which is just outside Reno. Nevada is also a place all it's own and you can tell a true Nevadian from a outsider but I never liked it. It's always brown with a bunch of sagebrush, there is dirty everywhere it seems like.
I live on my own in a 500 square foot cottage surrounded by trees. My landlords are family friends and they just live across the way and I babysit their kids and housesit for them. They have 2 llamas (nothing like looking through your kitchen window and seeing a llama stare back at you), 7 chickens and a black lab. I have a black cat named Kiki. who is my everything, she is so intelligent. She amazes me everyday!
What about you guys? Do you like where you live?

HI everyone

Feeling under the weather today so I think I'm going to do a currently post which is over done but still fun none the less.
Currently....
Listening... to Dreams of a Life on Netflix. Very sad documentary about this beautiful girl that was found in her apartment... 3 years later! No one noticed she was gone, her TV was still on and she was a skeleton on a couch. SO SAD but I a real thinker of a documentary.
Eating... I had a yogurt parfait for breakfast yumminess and  pretty soon i'm going to have some soup for lunch.
Drinking... tea and chocolate soy milk :)
Wearing... a purple tank top and my pirates of the Caribbean PJ pants.
Feeling... my sore throat that feels like sand paper, a headache and overall feeling of ickiness. I hope you all are feeling better.
Weather... sunny :) I wish I could be enjoying it but it's still cold outside it would make me cough.
Needing... more day-quil lol

How are you guys today? Are you going doing and smashpages are prompts that you want to share?
Have a great day
Your stuffed up friend,
Kimi

HAPPY VALENTINES!!!

Hello everyone! Welcome to single awareness day!! Yes I am single and yes it is Valentines but that is ok I always do something special for myself on Valentines. Make myself a nice dinner, watch a movie and eat CHOCOLATE!! So the holiday isn't to bad really, I make it through. What about you guys? What do you do on Valentines?
So in honor of this loving holiday I decided to post some pictures of my "What I love right now" smashbook. This one happens to be the small smashbook because good things come in small packages (some of the time anyway.) I decided to do a whole smashbook on things I love because I want to appreciate more of what I have, I think as a whole we don't appreciate a lot of what we have. Plus, it's fun looking back and seeing how my taste has changed or how technologically we have advanced. For instance, if you asked me in middle school what my most beloved thing was I would have said my portable CD player and all my CDs. Ah found memories with that chunky black thing that you couldn't bounce around too much or it would skip.
This is my favorite artists page. I wanted to keep it fairly simple since the pictures are what I'm trying to show off. Sorry the right side is so dark, the Washington weather isn't working with me here! I love all the colors and how they match the pictures. What do you think?
So I took the Starbucks symbol I had on a bag (from a tomato and basil sandwich YUM) and smashed it on here. The love stamp I thought would be good here and then I journaled on top about why I like Starbucks so much. It's also very simple but sometimes that's a good thing!
This one is also kind of dark, sorry it didn't look that dark on my camera. This one I wrote about how much I love my iphone! I saved the original receipt (because I thought that might be fun to look back on),put a little washi tape and put the stickers that came with my iphone on there. I like the black and white theme.
Well, I think that's about all I will share for today, hopefully I will feel up to smashbooking a little later, after my candy coma!
I hope you all feel very loved today!
Smooches,
Kimi

Why Hello There! Welcome

So as of right now I want this blog to be a place were I can post my crafts and bits about my personal life. I follow and read so many other bloggers who do the same and it has totally inspired me. I just recently got into smashbooking but I love it! I can sit and put this onto a page and be as creative as I want and before you know it hours have passed (and the house is now a mess again!) I wanted to post a page that I did about my 23rd birthday which was this January 9th, it took me a while to finally do it but I really like the way it turned out.

I just went with the color on the card that the Melting Pot gave me and went with orange, yellow and red. I think it is easier to smash with a color pallet in mind. Everything looks more cohesive and put together but of course it is a smashbook and they are whatever you want them to be! The birthday cake was from a journal prompt from this great blog. She has a bunch of guided journaling pages for free and I think they are great for smashing. I like to look in past journals to see what my opinions, thoughts and worries were; which is fun to look back and see how much I have (hopefully) grown!
Next time I'll probably do a little bio on me soon but more smashbook pages to come for sure!

Your first time blogger,
Kimi
